Physician Assistant - Orthopedic Surgery
Job description Orthopedic private practice in Elmhurst is seeking to add a PA to its team of four orthopedic surgeons and three physician assistants.

Qualified candidates must be a graduate of an approved PA program and have an NCCPA certificate or eligibility.
Preferred candidates must have 2 years of experience as a Physician Assistant.
Previous orthopedic surgery experience is preferred.
Responsibilities:
As a Physician Assistant your duties and responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following:
Working as the first assist in surgery; providing preoperative and postoperative education to patient and family members Assisting in the office performing initial and ongoing clinical assessments and various treatment procedures Handling follow-ups and post-op appointments; applying casts/splints, administering injections, and answering patient questions, as directed by attending physician Writing orders for treatment, diagnostic tests, and medications at the direction of attending physician Dictating reports and assisting as needed with routine work as a member of the physician's team Working closely with the surgeon in a clinical capacity providing musculoskeletal care to a wide spectrum of patients and involving the broader clinic and operating room teams Main clinical duties will also include on-call responsibilities by taking primary orthopedic calls with the surgeon, inpatient and ED consults, and responding to patient and nurse calls Writing prescriptions per protocol under physician supervision Assisting in securing medical clearance for all surgical cases Collaboration and communication are essential aspects of the job Additional responsibilities and details will be discussed during the interview process Recommended Skills Clinical Works Health Care Orthopaedics First Aid And Preparedness Medical Prescription Diagnostic Tests Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
