Full Time, RN, Nurse Auditors Northeastern IL area

Our client, a Peer Review Organization contracted with the state of IL, is seeking nurses to conduct surveys and audits of Providers and participants to verify services. These audits will done at CILA's (Community Integrated Living Arrangements) and ICFs (Integrated Care Facilities). Reviews and interprets medical documentation to identify required services for comparison; validates compliance and completes reporting requirements. Accurate data entry into electronic systems. Accurate and timely submission of all administrative and review related documents to appropriate parties. Maintains medical records confidentiality at all times through proper use of computer passwords, maintenance of secured files, adherence to HIPAA polices. Foster positive and professional relationships and act as liaison with internal and external customers to ensure effective working relationships and team building in order to facilitate the audit process. Maintains production goals and QA standards. The position requires extensive travel throughout assigned area. The on-site record reviews and comprehensive reviews may be multi-day assignments located either in the Chicago area including downtown, north and south sides and the counties of Lake, DuPage, McHenry, Grundy, Will and Kankakee. There sometimes, but not often, may be assignments in southern and western Illinois. This is a full time position (Monday - Friday). Any travel over 30 miles one-way will be reimbursed for mileage. This home based position is estimated to require an average of 40 hrs./ wk. over the course of a year.

Qualifications:
Active, clear IL nursing license required 2 years of nursing experience required. Prior experience in special healthcare services (disabled services, Medically Fragile Children, HIV/AIDS, developmental disabilities, elderly services, etc.). Prior experience with Waiver programs (CILAs and ICFs). Knowledge of Medicaid and CMS regulations and standardized assessment tools required.
Prior medical records abstracting or UR strongly preferred; QA or related experience a plus. Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills essential as well as strong critical thinking skills necessary. Candidate must be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently and be flexible in work assignments. The position requires travel throughout assigned area. High level of comfort with Microsoft Office products, Internet and basic PC functions required.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
